Meet Michelle Nicely:
Get to know the visionary behind the magic! Michelle's expertise in creating movie sets and interiors around the world are reflected in every piece she curates. Her passion for the unique, artistic, and antique is the heartbeat of our emporium. She is first, an artist herself working in Oils and studies in Pastel; most of what is in her shop, NOW at a discount. Second, she is a connector; the vision of an art studio and community along Pacific Ave. would be wonderful.

Michelle holds degrees in both Fine Arts (painting and photography) and Special Education from the University of Texas in Austin.
Her career in film as an “art director” (set designer and more) seemed like a natural fit (art, design and directing construction- Perfect!) , thus, led her to become a member of the esteemed Art Directors Guild for Film (Local 800). That time in her life was long ago, before raising her family in Santa Cruz over 20 years ago. Her passion for architecture, fine art, art history, inclusion, community and continuity shine through in all of her endeavors.
At Nicely: gallery, decor and design, Michelle extends her support to clients in various capacities, offering workshops, design and mural services, expert recommendations on estate sales, and restoration assistance, all on a sliding scale when needed.
Most everything in the store is vintage and preloved, not including our local Fine Art and Hand Made pieces for you to enjoy.
Clients’ estate pieces are at a substantial discount for purchase.
